Droid Companion ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use the Droid Companion Android application.

1. Data Collection and Usage

Droid Companion is primarily a system information tool. To provide you with accurate details about your device, we access various hardware and software information. Most of this data is processed in real-time and displayed on your screen.

Device Information: We read system properties such as CPU model, GPU details, memory usage, and build version to display them to you.
Sensors: Data from sensors (accelerometer, barometer, etc.) is used solely for real-time visualization and measurement tools.
Installed Apps: We list your installed applications to provide you with details about their permissions and data usage.

2. Sensitive Permissions

Certain features require sensitive permissions. We only use these permissions to provide the specific functionality described:

Location: Used by the Compass and Location info modules to calculate accurate heading and display coordinates. This data is processed locally and is never stored or shared.
Microphone: Used by the Sound Meter to measure ambient noise levels. Audio is never recorded, saved, or shared; only the decibel level is calculated in real-time.
Camera: Used by the Magnifier tool for a live zoomed preview. No photos or videos are captured or stored.
Bluetooth: Used to display info about your Bluetooth adapter and paired devices. No data is transmitted externally.
Physical Activity: Used by the Step Counter and Step Detector. This information remains local to your device.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services for app improvement and stability:

Firebase Crashlytics: Used to collect anonymous crash reports to help us fix bugs and improve stability.
Firebase Performance Monitoring: Used to monitor app speed and responsiveness anonymously.

These services may collect anonymous identifiers and device metadata for diagnostic purposes only.

4. Data Security

Since we do not collect or store your personal data on external servers, there is no personal data at risk of breach from our systems. Any data processed by the app stays on your device.
